This place...

The view from my office is so lovely right now

Every now again, one of the (many) heavy equipment vehicles gets especially close to my window and I get an impromptu teeth-rattling "massage." Makes concentrating on work difficult. Evidently they're replacing piping or something.

We're also all pissed because not only can we not get to this lot at ALL now to park, they've closed off 1/3 of the lot on the other side of the building. Thank goodness it's been a mild winter, at least.

One time when digging underneath my work they found a mass burial site for Black Death Plague Victims, they think there's 50,000 skeletons from the 14th Century under all the buildings on the street, we're largely ignoring them and simply not planning on digging a basement or redoing the car park any time soon.

Nothing like big machines making noise and vibrations. I feel for you but esp bc you're trying to work under these conditions. The inconvenience of the parking situation, and good it has been mild or the walking to and from car would be horrific - insult to injury!

We have endured the building of the McMansion across the street from us and there were cranes and all the other necessary big equipment coming and going for the past few months. 7am was their start time many days and the sounds reverberated against the front of our house and woke WT up all the time. The landscaping has not been done and that will require more machinery so maybe 2 more days of machinery noise. Today the appliances were delivered which meant the big truck w. the lift on back was parked across the street from us but it sounded like it was almost in our house as it went up and down, up and down. and over and over until I lost count somewhere at 5 or 6. I don't know how many appliances they had bought that were installed today but it seemed endless. The cats were unsettled bc we felt a vibration as well as the sound and the lift needed a good greasing so it was not making such a grinding noise. They did seem to unload the appliances at one time though and not space it out by unloading and installing one and then unloading the next thing. I considered that the silver lining. :)
