Star Trek A night at the Treksbury

No such luck!

I didn't have a gameplan or list when I went to Wegmans this morning and so I ended up with things like smoked salmon, smoked whitefish (which I've never bought at the grocery but I have tried), fresh and roasted vegetables and since there was a fabulous display, a box of mediterranean matzo (I mean who doesn't love crackers with olive oil, onion, garlic and herbs, right?).

I was in the checkout line and the older couple behind me was putting their selection of all foods Kosher on the belt. I spied them giving me an approving look...until I put the sushi with the shrimp and the package of deli ham on the belt.

I managed not to giggle.

Ah, freestyle shopping! It's fun until you get home and realize you can't actually make a meal out of your purchases. But it can lead to surprisingly tasty things like brown rice pasta with barbecue sauce.

That actually sounds like a tasty combo despite the oddness. lol

I have a LOT of veggies, though I forgot to pick up the Better Than Cream Cheese so I'll have to get some tomorrow. I want to chop up the big hunk of broccoli and some of the carrots I have and mix it with the BTCC and some herbs for a nice chunky spread.

I also got two bags of lemons (one regular, one meyer) to make homemade lemonade and I need to do a lot of zesting tonight. I hate when zest goes to waste. I also plan to make these Chex Lemon Buddies to keep around as a snack on someone's suggestion. Too bad white chocolate isn't generally vegan since I'm sure my student worker would love that.

Damn, that all sounds delicious and a LOT of work. Wow, I'm going to feel resentful about the pasta with premade pesto sauce I'm eating in a little while. ;)

So close to being Jewish!
