Easing into the week

I was SO bummed in the middle of the night on Saturday morning because there was rain and strong winds and I thought that the small viewing driving home on Friday afternoon of leaves that had finally changed color was all I was going to get to see. Fortunately that wasn't the case and the weekend had some nice ones to view
They do seem to be blowing off more today, alas. But at least it wasn't All Autumn in a Day.

On Saturday, I went to the mall with Emily. I'm still looking for some neutral-colored shoes that are both comfortable but would look good with dresses and skirts. The Walking Company had some nice styles but they only had my size in black and I wasn't looking for black. Nordstroms and Macys didn't have much either. However, we browsed Emily's favorite footwear place and she got to use two nearly year-old gift certificates to get a pair of boots and a pair of shoes and I gave into temptation myself. Now I'm the proud owner of my first pair of "Docs" - white shiny patent no-heel boots with black trim. I'll need to wear leggings and/or long socks for a while as to not get too much rubbing on my lower calf but the bottoms are surprisingly very comforable. I figure I can wear them with dresses and skirts - why not, eh? I've been looking for a pair of canvas tan shoes to replace some Grasshoppers that are falling apart on the inside and I saw on the Doc Martens site that they have a nice looking pair for a good price. I'm going to wait to order them on Wednesday because that's when I get a $15+ Ebates rebate. I'll also get 10% off and will have free shipping so that should be more in budget.

My back has been feeling achy and sensitive lately but last night I had a scare where I had some spasms. I'm taking today off just in case, though I do have a follow up with my rheumatologist around noonish. It took me months to get an appointment so I don't want to miss it. Since tai chi made my lower back rather achy last week, I can't risk triggering a full-on back episode for none of that for me tonight. Besides, I need to be in good enough shape to go vote tomorrow morning, right? I rested a lot last night and this morning so I'm crossing fingers that I've been able to avoid it getting worse.

I hate shoe shopping--unless it's for sexy heels. Then it's fun >:>

Have fun voting tomorrow! I'm always such a bad ass bitch on voting day *lol*

I never really could wear heels, alas. Now that I’m all wobbly around my joints, I really can’t wear them. So now I have boots like punk rockers have. I may still fit into kids sizes so if I like these, I could get a pair of glittery ones for a good price!

Their vegan ones - especially the shiny purple ones are rather tempting. ;)

Mine are shiny black cherry and I love them. Maybe when they wear out I'll get them in purple.
