Dine's Food Diary - Day 1

Inspired by the lovely amethyst_witch, I'm documenting food intake via photos (rather than calories) to keep accountable. Doing this only for one week in my case because I know I'll get busy with stuff to keep taking/uploading pics and such. That said...day one

Morning weight: 199. This week is Shark Week so I won't try to get too freaked out about the fluctuations when I bloat.
Note: I tend to use medium or small plates rather than dinner plates. Folks needing to lose weight need to use the trick of the illusion that there is OMG!SOMUCH! to eat. lol

Sunday morning breakfast. Two slices Panera multigrain toast. I'm digging this bread (first time I bought it) since it's not a cardboard-tasting grain and because the slices are small so I can have more than one piece and mix it up with flavors.
One piece with orange champagne marmelade, one slice with 1/4 avocado, roasted red peppers and everything but the bagel seasoning. Coffee with half and half and 1.5 splenda

Mid morning snack - apple with mini brie, peppermint tea with a squirt of honey

Lunch - Wegmans "skinny" tuna and salmon sushi roll. Mixed the wasabi paste with a little Just Mayo. Polar vanilla seltzer

Afternoon snack - two slices Panera multigrain toast, one half with whipped cream cheese and 1 piece turkey, one piece with Target's version of Nutella (you can't tell the difference!)

Dinner - 1/4 of Lite Kielbasa, sliced and pan fried with fancy roasted garlic kraut, scoop of Oprah's potato/cauliflower mix (first time I tried it and it's pretty good!), dollop of Daisy regular sour cream. More Polar vanilla seltzer

Dessert - Jello sugar free lime jello with whipped cream (not sugar free but light)

Not shown:
Late night snack of Wegmans ultra thin sliced provelone
Plenty of water - I fill a water bottle often

Good luck. I hope that this will work for you. It's gutsy taking this one just a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving. I wish you nothing but success.

It's possible I may end up doing T-day solo and if so, I'll make a fancy but healthy-ish meal. :D

And if I do spend it with friends, well, one cheat day doesn't kill the whole thing. ;)

I tell ya, the one thing that's going to be tough to resist is the cranberry orange bread I made and took into work to share. I had one slice and it turned out amaaaaazing.

I wouldn't be making stuff like that because I wouldn't resist it. It's easier to not have that sort of temptation.

I love seeing what other people eat like this. I hope you get what you want out of it but regardless, thank you!!

I have to figure out how to turn the "motion" setting off on my iPad because when I download the pictures from Google Drive, it downloads them as .zip files with a movie. Unless I make a video of me cooking, I don't need a movie. LOL

Heh, I should do a vegan week again. It challenges me to make new recipes and many times I end up trying something that goes into regular rotation. I was THRILLED that Wegmans is carrying the Beyond Burger now and so that will be in the pictures this week.

Have fun drooling! ;)

Aw YAY! *blush* You're lovely :>

Okay WOW your meals are all so pretty! I LOVE your farmhouse-style cutting board--or is it a hard placemat? Either way, I love it.

You made a lot of great choices here :) Very healthy <3

No YOU are!
It's a glass cutting board
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HMOVCYO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I don't actually cut on it much but it's pretty and easy to wipe off since it's also where I dish up kitty food.

Thanks! This is actually pretty much the type of meals I usually eat. My downfall is grabbing little bits in between these meals and snacks. Oh a piece of chocolate here, a hunk of cheese there, another smidge of chocolate, oh another piece of bread is fine, right? Just a smear of butter on it. I'm not even hungry when I'm eating them. Just using them to quell nervousness.
Then after a while, I've had the equivalent of a couple of extra meals with all of these extra "bits"

I love that mug. Mom and Dad sent it to me several years ago. Kittehhhhhhs

Re: No YOU are!
Ohh wish listing this <3

Ahh yes--it's those little "random bits" that partly inspired the whole thing for me because I was sick one day (stomach) and we couldn't remember why, but now I will o_O

They know you well! It's adorable!

Love the food photo diary. Maybe once we get back from Thanksgiving I’ll give it a try for a week.
