Catching up

Like most people, I did eat a good amount on Thanksgiving. I went to Emily’s sister’s house and had a yummy meal. We ate at 2 PM and I still couldn’t eat dinner that night but oh well. I checked in with the parents in Ohio and they were super happy that my brother and his family came up from Texas, and my brother made Thanksgiving dinner for everyone at my parents house.

Although there’s no way I’ll ever go out at the crack of dawn for Black Friday nonsense, Emily and I did go to Target in late morning and it was dead as a doornail yet all of the registers were open. That really is the best time to go. I also did a little online shopping for things that I needed that were on a really great discount.

In other general news, Junebug doesn’t seem to be doing much better on the CBD oil. She’s not any worse so I’ll go ahead and continue it and keep tweaking her diet in the hopes of getting her little tummy to cooperate more.

In my own diet journey, obviously with the holiday weekend I’ve been slacking a little and need to get that in gear. I am also thinking about doing Veganuary in January. It makes me pay close attention to what I’m eating, I find new recipes that are healthy, and hopefully I can start drinking coffee without cream which were also knock off a few calories LOL.

I want to someday drink my coffee black, too...but I LOVE cream o_O

I can do iced coffee without cream as long as I put some sweetener in it. I have a feeling if I decide to do the month, I’ll be drinking more hot tea lol

Ive done vegan week before and cream in the coffee and eggs for breakfast are the two things that I crave most. Other than that, it’s not too bad. By doing the vegan stretches, I’ve discovered things I love like the Beyond Burgers, that the fake cream cheese stuff is excellent, rice bowls with tons of veggies and either beans or nuts/peanuts are deeeeelicious, and smoked tofu is fantastic. I adore a banh mi sandwich with crusty baguette, seared smoked tofu, pickled daikon and radish, cilantro and vegan mayo is THE BOMB.

Re: F
Iced coffee gives me instant heartburn o_O I wish I could have it during our mega humid summers bleh.

I put a splash of 18% cream in my scrambled eggs, too :> SO GOOD! Rich and delicious.

It's so great that you like the vegan stuff! I tried so hard but I didn't like any of the imitation stuff :s
I've not yet tried the Beyond Burger, though.

I'm glad you enjoyed Thanksgiving! I hope Junie gets better and that Veganuary goes well. There are non-dairy creamers. I put organic vanilla soy milk in my coffee :)

I don't like the non dairy ones but I'll try some of the new ones that I haven't experimented with.

I just ordered a gift for the office of an espresso maker so that should make January easier since I can either do a shot for the caffeine fix or make a latte (steamed non dairy creamer always seems to taste better)

Poor Junie. I hope the oil starts to work soon.

I passed on Black Friday too. Not that the savings are as big as they are in the US. I hate going into the mall on a normal day.

There may be some new vegan foods to discover in Veganuary.

I'm going to switch up some of the foods again and see if that helps. I'm suspecting the one that's all "limited ingredient diet" isn't working for her anymore.

There are alllways new vegan foods to discover. I follow a Trader Joe's Vegan page on Instagram. NOMNOM
