oh dear, I haven't watched these. In fact I was mildly appalled at the opening of stores with toys for a star wars movie that's not even out yet. I know people have criticized Lucas as having invented the whole associated toy thing, but I honestly think he was just trying to fund his movies, not make a fortune. This new kick, on the other hand, to me misses the entire point of star wars. It's not about stuff or cgi or even nostalgia, at least not to me. Star wars is about the journey of the self, and I know that sounds self important but it was one of if not the main story that came along in our culture that kept me going and did not let me wallow in despair about the universe and my place in it.

I'm glad to hear that I wasn't the only one turned off by the "Force Friday" marketing crap by Disney yet again making a buck.

I know these are ads, but I do like the angle of sharing the enjoyment of Star Wars with the next generation.

Don't suppose you're doing anything around movie release time?

planning to see the movie with two of my yoga students, ages 12 and 10. that should be fun! besides the story, the second best thing about star wars for me was seeing it with fantastic, excited audiences. to be in a room with a huge screen with everybody appreciating everything is a joy. later when people began nitpicking, I couldn't understand why they would want to forget that marvelous experience we all had.
